Attach the cable to the bracket of the (fan cowl) support beam.
(g)
If it is necessary, install the P-clamp between the EDP hydraulic tube and the control cable.
NOTE: The installation of the clamp was suggested
____ in Boeing Service Letter 737-SL-29-42 to eliminate chafing between the control cable and the EDP hydraulic tube, but in some cases this created excessive vibration for the control cable. In Service Report 95-06 removed the clamp and installed Teflon spiral wrap to prevent wear of the tube and excessive vibration for the control cable. On these installations, the P-clamp will not be present and does not require installation.
(h)
Put the control cable in the quick-release clamps (five locations).
(i)
Close the quick release clamps.

(3) START CONTROL CABLES WITH FIXED END FITTINGS; Do these steps:
(a)
Make sure there are one or two shims installed between the fuel control box and the cable support plate.
(b)
If there are no shims installed, do these steps:
1) Remove the lockwire and two bolts to remove the cable
support plate from the fuel control box.
2) Install one or two shims between the cable support plate and the fuel shutoff control box.
NOTE: These 0.063 inch thick shims will change the
____ position of the sheath of the push-pull cable. This will increase the adjustment length of the cable.
3) Install the straight cable support plate with two bolts and washers.
NOTE: You must use longer bolts with the part number
____ BACB30LJ4HU5 if you install two shims. You can use the short bolts with the part number BACB30LJ4HU4 if you install one shim.
4) Do not install the lockwire between the two bolts and the control cable nut at this time.
(c)
Push the control cable through the slot in the cable support plate. 1) Make sure the washer is between the control cable and the
cable support plate.
(d)
Install and tighten the jamnut.
(e)
Install the lockwire on the jamnut and the two bolts that hold the cable support plate.
(f)
Connect the control cable rodend to the clamp links on the MEC shutoff lever. 1) Make sure the rodend can be attached to the link clamps. 2) If the control cable is approximately 0.25 inches too short
to attach the rodend to the link clamps, change the link clamp 315A1047-1 to link clamp 315A1047-2 (AIPC 76-10-00 Fig. 3A, Item 585).
3) Install the rodend between the link clamps. a) Install the bolt, the washer below the bolthead and the nut.
NOTE: The bolt must be installed so the bolthead
____ points toward the engine centerline.
4) Install the bolt with the bolthead to the engine centerline.
(g) Do not install the aft cover on the MEC control box.

(4) START CONTROL CABLES WITH ADJUSTABLE END FITTINGS; Do these steps:
(a) Install a jamnut and a tabwasher on the control cable.
NOTE: This tabwasher and jamnut is on top of the control
