Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201) for each engine.

Make sure the two forward thrust levers are at the idle postion.

Do this step on the first engine.


 (a)  Install the rig pin 3 (F70207-23) in the "P" (part power stop) rig pin hole in the fuel control box (View B, Fig. 501).

 (5)  Attach the adaptor and the protractor to the thrust lever for the first engine (Fig. 502).
 NOTE: If the protractor is not available, refer to
____ AMM 76-11-00/201 for the conversion of angular position to linear position of the thrust lever.

 (6)  Move the first thrust lever forward to 30.0 (+1.0/-1.0) degrees from the idle stop.
 (a)  The power lever in the fuel control box on the first engine must touch the rig pin 3.

(b)  If necessary, adjust the turnbarrel on the push-pull cable to get the thrust lever travel and the rig pin condition specified (View B, Fig. 501).

 (a)  Install the rig pin 3 (F70207-23) in the "P" (part power stop) rig pin hole in the fuel control box (View B, Fig. 501).

Move the second thrust lever forward until the power lever in the fuel control box on the second engine touches the rig pin 3.

Adjust the turnbarrel on the push-pull cable for the second engine until the two thrust levers align within 0.06 inches (1.52 mm).

 When the adjustments are complete, make sure the thread engagement witness holes in the turnbarrels are at least 50 percent covered.

 Install lockwire on the turnbarrels.

 Close the fan cowls (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 Remove the adaptor and the protractor from the thrust lever.

 Do the procedure: Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.

 WARNING:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU WORK NEAR THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS. LEADING EDGE FLAPS MOVE VERY QUICKLY. INJURY CAN OCCUR.

Remove the locks on the leading edge of the flap (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 3. Engine Control Cables Tension Adjustment

 A. General
 (1)  This procedure describes the tension adjustment of the thrust control and start control cables. You must do this task after you replace an engine control cable.
 B. Equipment
 (1)  
Tensiometer, 0 to 125 pound (0 to 58 Kg) capacity
 (commercially available)


 (2)  
Kit - Rig Pin, F70207-93

 (a)  
Rig Pin - F70207-8 Optional: MS20392-4C pin (or equivalent 0.311 inch (7.9 mm) diameter, 3 inch (76 mm) long rod or bolt)

 (b)  
Rig Pin - F70207-23 (2 required). Optional: MS20392-3C pin (or equivalent 0.248 inch (6.29 mm) diameter, 3 inch (76.2 mm) long rod or bolt).
