(d) ENGINES WITH A FUEL SHUTOFF CABLE WITH AN ADJUSTABLE CLEVIS END; Disconnect the fuel shutoff cable as follows (Fig. 402): 1) Remove the bolt, washer and nut that attach the fuel shutoff clevis end to the fuel shutoff lever. 2) Disconnect the clevis end from the fuel shutoff lever. 3) Temporarily install the bolt, washer, and nut on the fuel
shutoff cable clevis end. 4) Remove the two bolts and washers that attach the cable support bracket to the top of the fuel control box. 5) Temporarily install the bolts and washers on the top of the fuel control box.
NOTE: Do not install the cable support bracket to the

fuel control box.
(e) Temporarily install the fuel control box cover with the two bolts and washers.

(6) Do these steps to remove the fuel control box (Fig. 403):
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the power lever angle (PLA) synchro. 1) Remove the PLA synchro wire bundle clamp from the MEC
bracket.
(b)
Remove the two bolts, washers, and nuts that attach the inner coverplate to the fuel control box.
(c)
Remove the four bolts and washers that attach the coverplate to the fuel control box.
(d)
Move the power lever to get access to the three bolts through the holes in the control box housing and the quadrant gear.
(e)
Remove the bolts and remove the fuel control box.

(7) If the replacement control box does not have a autothrottle PLA synchro, remove the autothrottle power lever angle (PLA) synchro (AMM 22-31-11/401).
