CAUTION: CORRECT PLACEMENT OF NINE SHIMS ON THE LONG CONTROL SHAFT PER
_______ INSTALLATION IS ESSENTIAL. EXTREME CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO MAINTAIN SHIMS IN POSITION AS DOWEL IS INSERTED.
(12) Put the dowel against the right end of the long control shaft and gently move the long control shaft with the dowel.
(a) Put pressure on the long control shaft as you tap the dowel into place to keep the shims in the correct position.

(13) Remove the start levers.
(a)
Remove the No. 2 start lever. 1) Push the dowel through the right support frame, the bushing, and the shim.
2) Make sure the long shaft goes through the left support frame, the bushing, the shim, the No. 1 start lever, the No. 1 thrust lever, two shims, and the No. 2 thrust lever.
(b)
Remove the No. 1 start lever.
1) Push the dowel through the right support frame, the bushing, the shim, the No. 2 start lever, the No. 2 thrust lever, two shims, and the No. 1 thrust lever.
2) Make sure the long control shaft goes through the left support frame, the bushing, and the shim.
