FLIGHT COMPARTMENT WINDOWS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
______________________________________________________
1. General_______
A. There are ten windows symmetrically located around the flight compartment. They are named and numbered as shown in Fig. 1. Windows No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 are fixed in place. Window No. 2 is a sliding window, mounted on tracks, to permit ventilation and communication on the ground.
B. The window seals which are used on the flight compartment windows consist of fixed window pressure seals, which are used on windows No. 1, 3, 4 and 5, and the sliding window pressure seals on windows No. 2. The seals prevent cabin pressurization leakage around the window panes when the flight compartment is pressurized.
