 (2)  S 034-003-B00Remove the trim panels and the crash padding where it is necessary (AMM 25-11-21/201).
 (3)  S 034-004-B00Disconnect the power leads at the bus bar terminals on the window if applicable.
 (4)  S 034-005-B00Remove the thermal switch and the bracket (11) from the window frame (10) if applicable (Fig. 404) (AMM 30-41-31/401).
 (5)  S 034-006-B00Remove the aerodynamic smoother from clearance around the external edge of the window.
 NOTE:____ You can use the nylon cord to make this step easier. The free end of the cord is installed in the upper aft corner of the window. Do not cover the cord end. Pull the cord end until the cord and the smoother are removed (Fig. 402).

 D. Procedure - Remove Window No. 4 or No. 5
 S 034-007-B00
 (1)  Remove these components from the window assembly (1) and the window frame (10).
 NOTE: These steps can be made simple in the area of the map light.
____ This can be done if you remove the map light house first then you remove the lamp.
 (a)  
The self-locking nuts (7)

 (b)  
The flat washer (6, if installed)

 (c)  
The flat washer (5)

 (d)  
The O-ring (4)

 (e)  
The retaining bolt (3).

Apply hand pressure to the outer side of the window assembly (1) to break the seal.

Remove the window from the window frame (10).


 NOTE:____Always apply pressure to the largest area possible. You can hit the window lightly with a rubber mallet and a nonmetallic block if it is not particularly easy to remove. The aluminum spacer (2) and pressure seal (9) are removed with the window.

 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE METAL OR THE FAIRING
_______ COMPOUND. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, DAMAGE TO THE METAL OR TO THE FAIRING COMPOUND ON THE INBOARD FACE OF THE WINDOW FRAME CAN OCCUR.
 (4)  Remove the remaining aerodynamic smoother from the window frame (10) carefully and do not cause damage to the fairing compound (8).

SPACER: MAKE FROM A 2024-T3 WW-T-785 ALUMINUM
TUBE, 5/16 INCH OD BY 0.035 INCH WALL THICKNESS.
THE TUBE MUST BE FROM 0.95 INCH STOCK LENGTH.
REFER TO SECTION A-A FOR HOW TO ASSEMBLE. FOR A
PROTECTIVE FINISH APPLY SULFURIC ACID AND ANODIZE
TO AGREE WITH THE SPECTIFICATIONS OF MIL-A-8625
TYPE II OR CHEMICAL TREAT PER MIL-C-5541, PLUS
ONE LAYER OF BMS 10-11, TYPE I, PRIMER.
