(7) Tighten each nut 20 to 25 pound-inches on window No. 5.
NOTE: Use the example for the sequence shown in (Fig. 405).
____ The usual pressurization of flight will seat the window in its frame. As a result, after the initial pressurization if leakage occurs, you must examine the attached nuts. If you find a loose nut, you must tighten it to not more than 5 pound-inches above run-on torque for the nut. You can cause damage to the window if you tighten the nuts too tightly.
S 954-028-B00
(8) Apply the masking tape on the top of the outer area between window and skins.
NOTE: This will prevent the contamination before you install

S 954-029-B00
(9) Remove the masking tape immediately on the top of the clearance at the outer side edge of the window.
NOTE: You can do this with a sharp knife or an equivalent
____ object. The installed masking tape must give protection to the edges of the clearance.
S 434-030-B00
(10) Install a clean dry nylon cord that is longer than the window dimension in the bottom of the outer edge of the window.
NOTE: The two ends must touch in the top aft corner of the window
____ frame. They must make an overlap at approximately 0.5 inch.
To make the installation of the cord easy, pull the cord lightly and tamp down into the clearance with a spatula if it is necessary.
