(aa) Remove the sheet of cloth or equivalent material from the inner
surface of the middle pane.
(ab) Clean the inner surface of the middle pane (AMM 12-16-03/301).
(ac) Apply the antistatic agent to the inner surface of the middle
pane (AMM 12-16-03/301).
(ad) Install the lining to the emergency exit hatch (Ref 52-21-12/401).
(ae) Remove the sheet of cloth from the outer surface of the outer pane.
(af) Clean the outer surface of the outer pane: 1) Make a soap solution with castile soap and warm water. 2) Apply the soap solution to the outer surface with a
cheesecloth.

3) Rub your hand on the outer surface to find the dirt on the surface.
NOTE: The dirt can cause scratches to the outer surface if

the dirt is not removed.
4) If you find dirt, remove the dirt with the soap solution and a cheesecloth.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT RUB THE OUTER SURFACE WITH A DRY CHEESECLOTH. THIS CAN CAUSE SCRATCHES AND MAKE AN ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE WHICH CAN CAUSE DUST PARTICLES TO BOND TO THE OUTER SURFACE.
5) Make the outer surface dry with a clean cheesecloth moist with water.

DOOR-MOUNTED WINDOWS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General_______
A. The windows in the doors consist of two panes and a dust cover (Fig. 1). The outer and inner panes are srtuctural (Fig. 1). The dust cover is nonstructural and is mounted in the cabin sidewall lining (AMM 25-21-46/401, Sidewall Lining). The outer and inner structural panes are each capable of taking the full cabin pressurization load. Fail-safe structure is ensured by the inner pane which is designed for
1.5 times the normal operating pressure at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The outer pane is made of stretched acrylic for increased strength. The inner pane is made of a cast acrylic. The innermost pane in the sidewall lining is made from polycarbonate.
