PASSENGER CABIN WINDOW PLATE (PLUG) - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the plate on the passenger cabin window. The second task is the installation of the plate on the passenger cabin window.
B. Refer to AMM 56-21-00/401, Passenger Cabin Windows, for the removal and installation of the passenger cabin window.

2. Passenger Cabin Window Plate (Plug) Removal (Fig. 401)___________________________________________
A. General
(1) The plate will be referred to as the plug in this task.
B. Consumable Materials
(1)
G00834 Cloth - Clean , Dry, Lint-Free
(2)
G00270 Tape - Masking

(1) Location Zone
100 Upper Half of Fuselage
E. Procedure

(1)
Remove the sidewall panel to get access to the plug
(AMM 25-21-46/401).
(2)
Remove the insulation pillow.

(3)
Remove the clip adjusting screws and window retaining clips (10 locations).
(4)
Disconnect the grounding strap from the plug.

(5) Remove the plug and seal.
NOTE: You do not have to remove the seal from the plug if the seal

is not damaged.

CAUTION: UNLESS YOU IMMEDIATELY INSTALL THE PLUG, INSTALL A SHEET OF
_______ CLOTH OR EQUIVALENT MATERIAL TO THE PLUG SURFACES WITH MASKING TAPE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PLUG AFTER YOU REMOVE THE PLUG.
(6) Install a sheet of cloth or equivalent material to the plug surfaces.
