CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE DRAIN SLOTS IN THE PHENOLIC RINGS DO NOT HAVE
_______ SEALANT IN THEM. IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE SLOTS STAYS OPEN TO LET THE WATER DRAIN THROUGH THEM.
(8) Install the slotted phenolic rings on the lower window if they were removed before as follows:
WARNING: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE ALIPHATIC NAPHTHA.
_______ ALIPHATIC NAPHTHA IS FLAMMABLE AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Clean the mating surface of the window and the ring with a cloth moist with the aliphatic naphtha.
(b)
Rub the surface dry with an oil and lint-free cheesecloth.
(c)
Bond the slotted rings to the lower window with the adhesive.
NOTE: Put the slots adjacent to the window

surface.
E. AIRPLANES WITH 12 BOLTS ON THE LOWER TUBE; Procedure - Install the viewer assembly of the nose gear downlock (Fig. 201).

(1) Install the hose and the clamps on the upper and lower tubes.
NOTE: Do not tighten the clamps.

Put the assembled viewer in its position on the upper structure of the nose wheel well.
(3)
Install the 4 bolts that attach the corners of the lower viewer.

Assemble the lower window, the gaskets, the phenolic ring, and the retention ring with one bolt through it.
(5)
Install the remaining 7 bolts.

Install the floor panel that you can remove on the structure of the control cabin floor.

Install the window in the upper flanged pan with a gasket on each side.

Install the retention plate of the upper window with 4 bolts.

Install the bolts that hold the floor panel.

Tighten the hose clamps.

Seal the bolt heads in the nose wheel well with the BMS 5-95 sealant.

Put the phenolic spacer, the gaskets, and the window with slotted rings in its position on top of the nose wheel well.
