 (5)  Examine the No. 2 window for the delaminations:
 NOTE: A delamination is the separation of a glass pane from the
____ adjacent inner layer. The delaminated area can be clear, but it can become cloudy if moisture gets into it. A delamination can have an effect on the electrical anti-ice system.
 A delamination does not cause on the structural capacity of the windshield to decrease. Thus, use the delamination limits as an aid when you find it is necessary to replace a window. The delamination limits can be extended if the visual capacity is satisfactory.
 (a)  
Isolated (island) delaminations found 2 inches from the nearest edge, with diameters of 3/4 inch or more.

 (b)  
Continuous edge delaminations 1) Delaminations which extend 2-1/2 inches or more from the edge (top or side) of the window 2) Delaminations which extend 3-1/2 inches or more from the top corner radius of the window 3) Delaminations which extend 2 inches or more from the bottom edge of the window

 4)  Delaminations which extend 3 inches or more from a lower corner to the center of the window.

 (c)  
A delamination that is cloudy


 NOTE: A cloudy delamination shows that there is moisture
____
 between the glass and the vinyl.

Do a test of the window anti-ice system (Ref 30-41-00/501).

Examine the mechanism for worn areas (Fig. 601).

Examine the bumper strip and the sealant.

 NOTE: The bumper strip and the sealant must touch the outer pane
____ correctly. If the bond is loose, moisture can get into the window and cause a delamination. Refer to the OHM 56-10-01 for procedures to repair the bond.

 1.  General

 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. There is one task for the repair of the Window No. 2 Handle Trigger Return Spring. The other task is for the repair of the Window No. 2 Bearing.

 2.  Repair the Window No. 2 Handle Trigger Return Spring (Fig. 801)

 (1)  Open the window.
 NOTE: This will remove the load from the compressed bulb seal off
____ the spring pin through the handle and the bellcrank shaft.

 (2)  Repair the spring:
 (a)  
Remove the spring pin (1) to remove the handle from the bellcrank shaft.

 (b)  
Remove the lower spring pin (2) to remove the trigger bolt from the handle.

 (c)  
Remove the middle spring pin (3) to remove the trigger return spring from the handle.

 (d)  
Put the new trigger return spring in a position opposite the middle spring pin hole.

 (e)  
Push in the spring pin (3).

 (f)  
Put the trigger bolt in a position opposite the lower spring pin hole.

 (g)  
Push in the spring pin (2).

 (h)  
Make sure that the trigger has full return when released.

 (i)  
Put the handle on the lower forward bellcrank shaft.

 (j)  
Push in the spring pin (1) through the handle and the shaft.
