The seal washers.

 E.  The aerodynamic smoother is installed in the area between the window frame and the edge of the bumper strip. It gives aerodynamic flushness and protection against water entrapment. A nylon cord or nylon thread is installed below the aerodynamic smoother to make the removal of the smoother easier.
 F.  The O-rings are made of black ethylene propylene. They are installed adjacent to the nut washers. On the fasteners where there are seal washers, they are installed in a different location. The O-rings can compress a set quantity to transmit sufficient compression load into the window. This will cause the seal bead to compress and make a weather seal. On fasteners adjacent to the windshield heat terminals, it is recommended that you use colored silicone rubber O-rings. The colored silicone rubber O-rings are not conductive and are preferred to ethylene propylene O-rings. No clearance with a terminal is necessary when you use the O-rings that are not conductive. You can use the silicone O-rings instead of the ethylene propylene O-rings at all locations if you want to.
 G.  The seal washers are made from silicone rubber. They are installed on the inboard end of the spacers. They are adjacent to the nut washer at the fastener locations on the window shown on Fig. 401. The seal washers function almost the same as the O-rings.
 H.  The replacement windows come with necessary parts for the installation. There is a protective layer on the two sides of the panes.
