 C.  The inertial reference system (IRS) supplies the data shown on the VSIs.
 D.  Each VSI is installed through a hole in the instrument panel into a clamp. The clamp holds the VSI in its position. Two screws on the front of the VSI adjust the clamp.
 E.  Each VSI has one electrical connector attached to the rear of the unit.

 (1)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) F/O VSI

 (b)  
P18 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) CAPT VSI

 (c)  
P41 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 5V AC SEC

 (d)  
P42 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 5V AC SEC

 (2)  Remove the VSI:
 (a) Loosen the top right screw and the bottom left screw.
 NOTE: Do not loosen the top left screw or the bottom right
____ screw. These screws hold the VSI clamp behind the instrument panel.
 (b)  
Push on the top right screw and the bottom left screw to loosen the clamp.

 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY REMOVE THE VSI FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE VSI.

 (c)  
Pull the indicator from the instrument panel.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS ON THE VSI. IF YOU TOUCH THESE PINS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VSI.

 (d)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the indicator.

 (e)  
Install a dust cap on the electrical connector.

 (2)  S 424-006Install the VSI: (a) Remove the dust cap from the electrical connector. (b) Connect the electrical connector to the VSI.
 CAUTION:_______ CAREFULLY INSTALL THE VSI INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE VSI.
 (c) (d)  Put the indicator into the instrument panel.Tighten the top right screw and the bottom left screw on the front of the VSI.
 (3)  S 864-007Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P6 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) F/O VSI (b) P18 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) CAPT VSI (c) P41 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) 5V AC SEC (d) P42 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) 5V AC SEC
 (4)  S 864-008Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
 (5)  S 764-009Make sure the panel lights on the VSI come on.
 (6)  S 864-010Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
