CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY REMOVE THE RDDMI FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE RDDMI.

Carefully pull the RDDMI away from the instrument panel until you can get at the electrical connector.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS ON THE RDDMI. IF YOU TOUCH THESE PINS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RDDMI.
(d)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the RDDMI.
(e)
Install a dust cap on the electrical connector.

(2) Do these steps to install an RDDMI.
(a)
Remove the dust cap from the electrical connector.
(b)
Connect the electrical connector to the rear of the RDDMI.

ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú ú (6) Do these steps to do a test of the RDDMI.(a) Set the switches on the MSU to the ALIGN or NAV position.(b) Set the SYS DSPL switch on the ISDU to the L position.(c) Set and hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TESTposition.(d) After 10 seconds, make sure that these occur:1) The applicable RDDMI heading reads 15 degrees.(e) Release the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU.(f) Set the SYS DSPL switch on ISDU to the R position.(g) Set and hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TESTposition.(h) After 10 seconds, make sure these occur:1) The applicable RDDMI heading reads 15 degrees.(i) Release the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU.

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this subject. The first task is for the removal of a vertical speed indicator (VSI). The second task is for the installation of a VSI.
B. Two VSIs are installed in the airplane. One VSI is installed on the captain's main instrument panel. The other VSI is installed on the first officer's main instrument panel.
