 (1)  Do the prepare for the operational test:
 (a)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (b)  
Make sure these systems are serviceable: 1) The digital flight control system (AMM 22-11-00/501) 2) The flight interphone system (AMM 23-51-00/501) 3) The inertial reference system (AMM 34-28-00/501).

 (c)  
Close these circuit breakers:
 1) P18 Load Control Center - Left
 a) VOR/LOC-1


 2)  P6 Load Control Center - Right
 a) VOR/LOC-2


 (d)  
Set the L and R mode select switches on the mode select unit (MSU) to the ATT position.

 (e)  
Set the DSPL switch on the inertial system display unit (ISDU) to the HDG/STS position.

 (f)  
Push and release the H key on the ISDU.

 (g)  
Enter a heading of 000 degrees in the ISDU.


 1)  Make sure the compass cards for the two RDDMIs read 000°.
 NOTE: The pointers for the two RDDMIs must agree.

 (h)  
Set the VOR/ADF switches on the two RDDMIs to VOR.

 1)  Make sure the VOR pointer annunciators show on the two RDDMIs.

 (i)  
Set these transfer switches as follows:
 1) ATTITUDE transfer switch - NORMAL
 2) COMPASS transfer switch - NORMAL
 3) VHF NAV transfer switch - NORMAL

 

 a)  Make sure the system annunciator on the captain's HSI shows 1. b) Make sure the system annunciator on the first officer's HSI shows 2. 4) HSI transfer switches - VOR/ILS. a) Make sure the navigation source annunciators on the two HSIs show VOR/ILS.
 E.  Self-Test for System No. 1

 (1)  Do the self-test for system No. 1:
 (a)  Do the prepare for the operational test.

 (b)  Set the controls on the DFCS mode select panel as follows: 1) Course counter - 000. a) Make sure the course arrow on the two HSIs agree with the course counter.
 (c) (d) (e)  Set a local VOR frequency on the No. 1 VHF NAV control panel. 1) Make sure you hear the local VOR sound through the flight interphone system.Set a frequency of 108.0 MHz on the No. 1 VHF NAV control panel. 1) Make sure the GS flag and the glide slope pointer on the captain's ADI are out of view. 2) Make sure the VERT flag and the glide slope pointer on the captain's HSI are out of view. 3) Make sure the navigation warning flag shows on the captain's HSI. 4) Make sure the pointer flags show on the captain's RDDMI.Hold the VOR test switch on the No. 1 VHF NAV control panel in the VOR position. 1) Make sure the course deviation bar on the captain's HSI is in the center.
 2) Make sure this sequence occurs: a) These indications occur for approximately three seconds.
 1 The navigation warning flag shows on the captain's_ HSI.
 2 The narrow pointer flags show on the two RDDMIs._ b) These indications occur after approximately three seconds.
 1 The navigation warning flag on the captain's HSI_ goes out of view. 2 The narrow pointer flags on the two RDDMIs go out of_ view.
 3 The to-from display on the captain's HSI shows_ "from."
 4 The narrow pointers on the two RDDMIs show 180 |3_ degrees. c) These indications occur after approximately 23 seconds. 1 The navigation warning flag on the captain's HSI_ comes into view.
