(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open with DO-NOT-CLOSE tags attached:
(a)
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) SECONDARY
2) IRS NO. 2 AC
3) IRS NO. 2 DC

P18 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) IRS NO. 1 AC
2) IRS NO. 1 DC

(2) Install the ISDU (AMM 20-40-12/201).
(a)
Connect the electrical connectors to the ISDU.
CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY INSTALL THE ISDU INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLES AT THE REAR OF THE ISDU.
(b)
Carefully install the ISDU into the instrument panel.
(c)
Lock the fasteners on the front of the ISDU.

(4) S 864-008Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(5) S 864-010Set the two switches on the IRS MSU to the NAV position.
(6) S 764-011Do a test of the ISDU as follows: (a) Set the SYS DSPL switch on the ISDU to the L (left) position. (b) Hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TEST position. (c) Make sure all the annunciators on the IRS MSU come on for approximately two seconds. (d) Release the DSPL SEL switch. (e) Set the SYS DSPL switch on the ISDU to the R (right) position. (f) Hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TEST position. (g) Make sure all the annunciators on the IRS MSU come on for approximately two seconds. (h) Release the DSPL SEL switch.
(7) S 864-014Set the two switches on the IRS MSU to the OFF position.
(8) S 864-015Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

INERTIAL REFERENCE UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this subject. The first task is for the removal of an inertial reference unit (IRU). The second task is for the installation of an IRU.
B. Two IRUs are installed in the main equipment center. IRU-1 and IRU-2 are installed on shelf No. 5 in the electronic equipment rack E3.
C. See 20-40-12/201, Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive Devices for the correct procedure to remove/install an IRU.
