 (i)  
Decrease the localizer deviation signal from the test set slowly to zero. 1) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights come on at

 approximately 1/4 dot LEFT deviation.

 (j)  
Release the TEST switch.
 1) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights go off.


 (k)  
Again, set the localizer deviation from the Test set to 1 dot LEFT. 1) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights stay off.

 (l)  
AIRPLANES WITH AUX VHF NAV SYSTEMS; do the steps that follow: 1) Hold the TEST switch on the captain's VHF NAV control panel


 in the CAPT ON AUX position.
 2)  Decrease the localizer deviation signal from the test set slowly to zero. a) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights come on at
 approximately 1/4 dot LEFT deviation. 3) Release the TEST switch. a) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights stay off.
 4)  Again, set the localizer deviation from the Test set to 1 dot LEFT. a) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights stay off.
 (m)  AIRPLANES WITH AUX VHF NAV SYSTEMS; do the steps that follow: 1) Hold the TEST switch on the first officers VHF NAV control
 panel in the F/O ON AUX position.
 2)  Decrease the localizer deviation signal from the test set slowly to zero. a) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights come on at
 approximately 1/4 dot LEFT deviation. 3) Release the TEST switch. a) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights go off.
 4)  Again, set the localizer deviation from the Test set to 1 dot LEFT. a) Make sure the LOC annunciator lights stay off.

 (5)  Perform Glide Slope (GS) Comparison Test
 (a)  Apply 1 dot UP and 1 dot LEFT signals from the NAV 401L test set. 1) Make sure the LOC and GS annunciator lights are off. 2) Make sure the NAV and GS flags on the two HSI's are out of
 view.

 (b)  
Hold the TEST switch on the captain's VHF NAV control panel in the UP-LEFT position.

 (c)  
Decrease the glide slope deviation signal from the test set to zero. 1) Make sure the GS annunciator lights must come on at

 approximately 1/4 dot UP deviation while the GS flags are out of view.

 (d)  
Release the TEST switch. 1) Make sure the GS annunciator lights go off.

 (e)  
Again, set the glide slope deviation from the test set to 1 dot UP. 1) Make sure the GS annunciator lights stay off.

 (f)  
Apply 1 dot UP and 1 dot LEFT signals from the NAV 401L test set. 1) Make sure the LOC and GS annunciator lights are off. 2) Make sure the NAV and GS flags on the two HSI's are out of

 view.


 (g)  
Hold the TEST switch on the first officer's VHF NAV control panel in the UP-LEFT position.

 (h)  
Decrease the glide slope deviation signal from the test set to zero. 1) Make sure the GS annunciator lights come on at

 approximately 1/4 dot UP deviation.
 2) Make sure the GS flags are out of view.


 (i)  
Reduce the GS and LOC deviations from the test set to zero.

 (j)  
Hold the TEST switch on the captain's VHF NAV control panel in the UP-LEFT position. 1) Make sure the GS and LOC annunciator lights come on.

 (k)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT AUX VHF NAV SYSTEMS; do the steps that follow: 1) Make sure the GS and LOC annunciator lights are on. 2) Momentarily move the VHF NAV transfer switch into all the


 other positions. a) Make sure the GS and LOC annunciator lights come on in the NORMAL position only.
