 D.  A power supply within the IRU furnishes operating power for the MSU and ISDU. It supplies two status indication signals for the MSU, mode selection signals to the input electronics and a power-up initialization signal for the entire IRS.
 14. IRS Cooling System (Fig. 18)

 A.  It is important that inertial reference units have an adequate cooling air supply since overheating will result in failure of the IRU's.
 B.  An equipment cooling OFF light is mounted on the P5 overhead panel. This light illuminates amber if the airflow detector detects a no-airflow condition. If the air/ground relay is closed (airplane on ground) a no-airflow condition also causes the ground crew call horn to sound.
 15. IRS Digital Interface (Fig. 19 and 20)

 A.  Simplified schematics of the IRS digital interface are shown on Fig. 19 and 20.
 B.  Figure 19 shows the input busses from interfacing components to the two IRUs. The data bus tables on the left indicate the parameters utilized by the IRU from the DADC, the FMC, the ISDU and the DAA.
 C.  Figure 20 shows the three output buses of the IRUs to interfacing components. The table on the right shows parameter information used by each interfacing component.
