ADI INCLINOMETER - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains one task. The task is to adjust the inclinometer of an attitude director indicator (ADI).

C. Procedure

(1) Do the ADI inclinometer adjustment.
(a)
Remove the two button plugs from the front of the ADI.
(b)
Loosen the inclinometer adjustment screws a little bit.
(c)
If you install one ADI, adjust the inclinometer to agree with the inclinometer that was not removed.
(d)
If you install two ADIs, level the airplane and then adjust the two inclinometers to mid position (Ref 08-10-00/201).
(e)
Tighten the inclinometer adjustment screws.
(f)
Replace the two button plugs.

HSI - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is for the removal of an horizontal situation indicator (HSI). The second task is for the installation of an HSI.
B. One HSI (N8) is installed on the captain's instrument panel P1. The other HSI (N9) is installed on the first officer's instrument panel P3.
C. Each HSI is installed through a hole in the flight instrument panel into a clamp. The clamp holds the HSI in its position. Two screws on the front of the HSI adjust the clamp.
D. Each HSI has an electrical cable attached to the rear of the unit through a connector.

B. Procedure

(1)
Set the COMPASS switch on the P1 or the P5 panel to the NORMAL position.

(2)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6-1 Load Control Center - Right
1) CAPT COMPASS XFMR (ALTN)
2) INSTR XFMR - 2
(b)
P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) F/O CCOMPASS XFMR (ALTN)

2) INSTRUMENT XFMR - 1

(3) Do these steps to remove an HSI.
(a) Loosen the higher right screw and the lower left screw.
NOTE: Do not loosen the higher left screw or the lower
____ right screw. These screws hold the HSI clamp behind the instrument panel.
(b)
Push on the higher right screw and the lower left screw to loosen the clamp.
CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY REMOVE THE HSI FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE HSI.
(c)
Carefully pull the HSI away from the instrument panel until you can get at the electrical connector.
(d)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the HSI.
