C. Glideslope deviation is displayed by a horizontal pointer. The pointer moves up and down against the scale marks on the vertical LOC pointer.
D. Localizer deviation is displayed by a vertical pointer. The pointer moves laterally against the scale marks on the horizontal G/S pointer.

STANDBY HORIZON INDICATOR - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure has three tasks. The first task replaces the light in the standby attitude indicator. The second task removes the standby attitude indicator. The third task installs it.
B. The standby attitude indicator is installed on the pilots' center instrument panel (P2).
C. The lights are found on the light block assembly.

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P18 Load Control Center
1) STANDBY HORIZON

(2) Do these steps to prepare to remove the standby attitude indicator:
(a)
Loosen the two larger indicator clamp screws adjacent to the indicator.
(b)
Pull the indicator a sufficient distance from the instrument panel to get access to the lighting block cover.

Remove the screws that hold the cover, spring blade, and lighting block to the top of the front face of the standby attitude indicator.
(4)
Remove the cover and spring blade.
(5)
Remove the lighting block.

Install the replacement lighting block on the top of the front face of the standby attitude indicator.

Put the cover and spring blade back in the correct position and tighten the screws.

Do these steps to install the standby attitude indicator:
(a)
Move the indicator into the instrument panel.
(b)
Tighten the indicator clamp screws.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the panel lights for the standby attitude indicator are on.
