Before doing the instrument comparator system test, make sure that these systems are serviceable:
(a)
Autopilot (AMM 22-11-00/501)
(b)
VOR/ILS Navigation (AMM 34-31-00/501).
(c)
Radio Altimeter (AMM 34-48-00/501).
(d)
Inertial Reference Systems (AMM 34-28-00/201).

Make sure that all ADI, HSI, and flight instrument switching circuit breakers are closed.

Set the flight instrument switches as follows:
(a)
VHF NAV transfer switch to the NORMAL position.
(b)
COMPASS transfer switch to the NORMAL position.
(c)
ATTITUDE transfer switch to the NORMAL position.
(d)
HSI transfer switches to the VOR/ILS position.

E. Instrument Comparator System Operational Test

Make sure that the COMPARATOR-PWR and COMPARATOR-MON circuit breakers on the P6 circuit breaker panel are closed.

Open the COMPARATOR-PWR circuit breaker.
(a) Make sure the MON PWR lights on the captain's and the first officer's instrument comparator panels come on.

(3) Push the captain's MON PWR annunciator.
(a) Make sure the MON PWR light dims.

(4) Push the first officer's MON PWR annunciator.
(a) Make sure the MON PWR light dims.

(5) Close the COMPARATOR-PWR circuit breaker.
(a) Make sure the MON PWR lights go off.

(6) Push the INSTR COMP test switch on the captain's instrument panel.
(a)
Make sure all six amber lights come on.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH A COLLINS -002 COMPARATOR MONITOR UNIT; Make sure the red MON PWR light comes on.

Push and hold the INSTR COMP test switch on the captain's instrument panel.

(a) Make sure that the annunciator lights become dim.
