 (5)  AIRPLANES WITH EFIS; Do these steps: (a) Supply cool air to the IRU's (AMM 21-58-03/501). (b) Supply cool air to the EHSI's, EADI's and EFIS symbol generators (AMM 21-58-02/501). (c) Set the EFI switch on the P5-28 panel to the NORMAL position.

 CAUTION:_______SOME SWITCHES MUST BE PULLED AND THEN TURNED. IF YOU TRY TO TURN THESE SWITCHES BEFORE YOU PULL THEM, YOU CAN DAMAGE THEM.
 (7)  Set the switches on the mode select unit (MSU) to the ALIGN or NAV position.
 NOTE: You can find the MSU on the P5 panel.

 (8)  AIRPLANES WITH IRU -109 AND PREVIOUS; Make sure that the fault ball indicator on the front of each IRU shows black.
 NOTE: You can find each IRU on the E3-5 shelf in the main

AIRPLANES WITH IRU -110 AND SUBSEQUENT; Make sure that the fault light on the mode select unit (MSU) is OFF.

 Do these steps to test IRS transfer relay #1.

 (a)  
Set the SYS DSPL switch on the ISDU to the R (right) position.

 (b)  
Set the IRS switch on the P5-28 panel to the BOTH ON RIGHT position.

 (c)  
Hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TEST position.

 (d)  
After 10 seconds, make sure that the captain's vertical speed indicator reads -600 feet/minute.

 (e)  
Release the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU.

 (11) Do these steps to test IRS transfer relay #2.
 (a)  
Set the SYS DSPL switch on the ISDU to the L (left) position.

 (b)  
Set the IRS switch on the P5-28 panel to the BOTH ON LEFT position.

 (c)  
Hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TEST position.

 (d)  
After 10 seconds, make sure that the first officer's vertical speed indicator reads -600 feet/minute.
