 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY REMOVE THE MSU FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE MSU.
 (b)  
Carefully lower the MSU until you can get at the electrical connector.

 (c)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the MSU.

 (1)  Make sure this circuit breaker is open with a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag attached:
 (a)  P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) SECONDARY

 S 424-008
 (2)  Install the IRS MSU.
 (a)  
Connect the electrical connector to the rear of the MSU.

 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY INSTALL THE MSU INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE RMI.

 (b)  
Carefully install the MSU into the pilot's P5 Overhead Panel.

 (c)  
Lock the fasteners on the front of the MSU.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:

 (a)  P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) SECONDARY


 (4)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (5)  
Set the two switches on the IRS MSU to the NAV position.

 (6)  S 764-011Make sure the two ON DC annunciators come on for approximately 5 seconds.
 (7)  S 764-015Make sure the two ALIGN annunciators come on after the two ON DC annunciators go off.
 (8)  S 864-014Set the two switches on the IRS MSU to the OFF position.
 (9)  S 864-013Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 INERTIAL SYSTEM DISPLAY UNIT -REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this subject. The first task is for the removal of the inertial system display unit (ISDU). The second task is for the installation of the ISDU.
 B.  The ISDU is installed on the pilot's P5 overhead panel.
 C.  See 20-40-12/201, Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive Devices for the correct procedure to remove/install the ISDU.

Set the two mode select switches on the IRS mode select unit (MSU) to the OFF position.

 2) IRS NO. 2 AC
 3) IRS NO. 2 DC

 (3)  Remove the ISDU (AMM 20-40-12/201).
 (a)  
Release the fasteners on the front of the ISDU.

 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY REMOVE THE ISDU FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ON THE REAR OF THE ISDU.
