(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open with DO-NOT-CLOSE tags attached:

(2) S 424-007Do these steps to install an HSI. (a) Connect the electrical connector to the HSI.
CAUTION:_______ CAREFULLY INSTALL THE HSI INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE HSI.
(b) (c) Carefully install the HSI into the clamp at the rear of the instrument panel.Tighten the higher right screw and the lower left screw on the front of the HSI.
(3) S 864-008Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P6-1 Load Control Center - Right 1) CAPT COMPASS XFMR (ALTN) 2) INSTR XFMR - 2
(b) P18 Load Control Center - Left 1) F/O CCOMPASS XFMR (ALTN) 2) INSTRUMENT XFMR - 1
(4) S 864-009Supply the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(5) S 764-010Make sure the panel lights on the HSI come on.
(6) S 864-011Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).

RADIO DIGITAL DISTANCE MAGNETIC INDICATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this subject. The first task is for the removal of a radio digital distance magnetic indicator (RDDMI). The second task is for the installation of a RDDMI.
B. Two RDDMIs are installed in the airplane. One RDDMI is installed on the captain's main instrument panel. The other RDDMI is installed on the first officer's main instrument panel.
C. Each RDDMI is installed through a hole in the flight instrument panel into a clamp. The clamp holds the RDDMI in its position. Two screws on the front of the RDDMI adjust the clamp.
D. Each RDDMI has one electrical connector attached to the rear of the unit.

set the COMPASS switch to the NORMAL position.
NOTE: The COMPASS switch is installed on the overhead panel P5.

set the IRS switch to the NORMAL position.
NOTE: You can find the IRS switch on the P5 Overhead Panel.
