 A.  There are two tasks in this subject. The first task is for the removal of the inertial reference system (IRS) master caution unit (MCU). The second task is for the installation of the IRS MCU.
 B.  The IRS MCU is installed on the P10 panel.
 C.  See 20-40-12/201, Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive Devices for the correct procedure to remove or install the IRS MCU.

 (1)  
Set the two switches on the IRS mode select unit (MSU) to the OFF position.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) DAA/FMC NO. 2 AC
 2) DAA/IRS NO. 2
 3) IRS NO. 2 AC
 4) DAA NO. 2 DC
 5) DAA/FMC NO. 2 DC
 6) IRS NO. 2 DC

 (b)  
P18 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) DAA/FMC 1 - AC
 2) DAA/IRS 1 - AC

 (3)  Remove the IRS MCU (AMM 20-40-12/201).
 (a)  
Release the fasteners on the front of the IRS MCU.

 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY REMOVE THE IRS MCU FROM THE PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ON THE REAR OF THE IRS MCU.

 (b)  
Carefully remove the IRS MCU from the panel until you can get at the electrical connectors.

 (c)  
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the IRS MCU.

 (d)  
Identify the electrical connectors for the installation.

 (2)  Install the IRS MCU (AMM 20-40-12/201).
 (a)  
Connect the electrical connectors to the IRS MCU.

 CAUTION:_______CAREFULLY INSTALL THE IRS MCU INTO THE PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLES AT THE REAR OF THE IRS MCU.

 (b)  
Carefully install the IRS MCU into the panel.

 (c)  
Lock the fasteners on the front of the IRS MCU.

 (3)  Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) DAA/FMC NO. 2 AC
 2) DAA/IRS NO. 2
 3) IRS NO. 2 AC
