E. IRS Self-Test

(1) Set the switches on the MSU to the ALIGN or NAV position.
NOTE: The ALIGN lights will remain on until the IRUs go into the
____
NAV mode.

(2) Do these steps to self-test the IRS.
(a)
Set the IRS TRANSFER SWITCH on the P5-28 panel to the NORMAL position.
(b)
Set the SYS DSPL switch on the ISDU to the L position.
(c)
Set and hold the DSPL SEL switch on the ISDU in the TEST position.
NOTE: Release the DSPL SEL switch from the TEST position and
____ it goes back to the TK/GS position.
Release the switch to stop the test.
You will possibly have to do this step again to see all effects of the test.
1) For seconds 0-2, make sure that: a) The ISDU display comes on. b) The ALIGN, FAULT, ON DC, and DC FAIL annunciators on
the left side of the MSU are on. c) The IRS master caution light on the captain's side of the pilot's lightshield comes on. 2) For seconds 2-10, make sure that: a) The FAULT, ON DC, and DC FAIL annunciators on the left side of the MSU turn off. b) The IRS master caution light on the captain's side of
the pilot's lightshield turns off. c) The display on the ISDU turns off. d) The HDG flag on the captain's EHSI comes into view.
