 (4)
The WXR ON switch/indicator is used to turn on the weather radar system (34-41-02) and the WXR display on the EHSI.

 (5)
The five MAP switch indicators illuminate in the ON position and call up display data for the EHSI map mode.

 17. Electronic Attitude Director Indicator______________________________________
 A.  Each of the captain's and first officer's instrument panels has an electronic attitude director indicator (EADI). The EADI is a multifunction display instrument receiving inputs from and providing displays for several electronic systems. Additional description, operation, and maintenance instructions for the EADI are provided in 34-22-00, EFIS.
 B.  The EADIs display basic attitude information, ILS data, radio altitude, and autopilot mode data. They also display fault data for the input systems in the event of a failure. The display consists of a standard attitude display centered on the screen. Text, which represents various flight parameters, is located in each corner of the screen.
 C.  Glide slope deviation is presented by the glide slope pointer which moves vertically above and below the center of the glide slope scale.
 D.  Localizer deviation is displayed by lateral movement of the localizer pointer (stem for the rising runway symbol) at the bottom of the EADI. Tuning to an ILS frequency and having the localizer valid (VOR/LOC super flag) signal present causes the localizer pointer and scale to be displayed. The runway symbol is displayed below 2500 feet radio altitude and moves vertically to indicate low range radio altitude from 200 feet to touchdown (AMM 34-48-01). Tuning to a VOR frequency causes the localizer pointer and scale and the rising runway symbol to go out of view.
 18. Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator_________________________________________
 A.  Each of the captain's and first officer's instrument panels has an electronic horizontal situation indicator (EHSI). The EHSI is a multifunction display instrument receiving inputs from and providing displays for several electronic systems installed on the airplane. Additional description, operation, and maintenance instructions for the EHSI are provided in 34-22-00, EFIS.
 B.  The EHSI displays flight information in a horizontal format. It displays standard type HSI information and many other flight parameters in modified formats. It also is used for the WXR display in the MAP, EXP-VOR, and EXP-ILS modes.
 C.  The VOR and ILS modes are used when flying to VOR ground stations and during ILS approaches. These modes display deviation from the desired VOR course or ILS glide path. The also display heading data, track data and flight parameters in text.
 D.  The EXP-VOR mode displays about 70° of arc and WXR when selected. The FULL-VOR mode displays a full 360° of arc and no WXR data. The differences between the FULL- and EXP-ILS modes are the same as for the VOR modes.

 E.  The course (lateral) deviation bar indicates the deviation from the selected course. With the airplane on course, the course deviation bar is aligned with the course arrow and tail. Either the VOR/ILS receiver or the FMCS controls the course deviation bar.
 F.  The to or from annunciation appears in the lower right corner of the EHSI to indicate the airplane is flying to or from a VOR station. The to-from display is blank when the VOR/ILS navigation system is tuned to an ILS frequency.
 G.  A VOR or LOC warning flag appears in place of the course deviation pointer and scale when missing or invalid data is furnished from the VOR/ILS navigation system.
 H.  A vertical (glide slope) deviation pointer in the EHSI indicates the vertical deviations of the airplane from the glide path when approaches are being made.
 19. Standby Attitude/ILS Indicator______________________________
 A.  The standby attitude/ILS indicator is installed on the captain's instrument panel. The indicator displays airplane attitude and localizer and glide slope course deviation and flag warnings. These signals are provided by the No. 1 IRS (Ref 34-28-01) and the captain's or No. 1 VOR/ILS navigation system.
