E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

CAUTION:_______SOME SWITCHES MUST BE PULLED AND THEN TURNED. IF YOU TRY TO TURN THESE SWITCHES BEFORE YOU PULL THEM, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE SWITCH.
YOU MUST MOVE THE MSU SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION BEFORE POWER IS REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE. IF THE POWER IS REMOVED WITH THE IRU's ON, THE IRS WILL SWITCH TO BATTERY POWER AUTOMATICALLY AND A WARNING HORN WILL SOUND.

Turn the mode switches on the MSU to the OFF position.

Turn off the EFIS cooling if it is not necessary (AMM 21-58-02/501).

INERTIAL SYSTEM DISPLAY UNIT - SERVICING

1. General (Fig. 301)_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is the replacement of an alphanumeric readout or a decimal/minute/degree lamp in the inertial system display unit (ISDU). The second task is to test the display readouts and lamps from the ISDU control panel.
B. You can find the ISDU in the flight compartment on the pilot's overhead panel, P5. The ISDU has eleven seven-segment numerical readout lamps, one seven-segment alphanumeric N-S readout lamp, and one seven-segment alphanumeric E-W readout lamp. These lamps are used to display navigational information and malfunction codes. There are also six bi-pin lamps used for decimal/minute/degree indication.
