 (a) Loosen the higher right screw and the lower left screw.
 NOTE: Do not loosen the higher left screw or the lower
____ right screw. These screws hold the attitude direction indicator clamp behind the instrument panel.
 (b)  Push on the higher right screw and the lower left screw to loosen the clamp.
 CAUTION: CAREFULLY REMOVE THE ATTITUDE DIRECTION INDICATOR FROM THE
_______ INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLES AT THE REAR OF THE ATTITUDE DIRECTION INDICATOR.
 (c)  
Carefully pull the attitude direction indicator away from the instrument panel until you can get at the electrical connectors.

 (d)  
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the attitude direction indicator.

 (e)  
Identify the electrical connectors for the installation procedure.

P18-2 Electronic System Captain Panel 1) ADI 2) F/O ADI (ALT)

 (c)  
P41 P1 And P2 5V Lighting
 1) 5V AC SEC

 (2)  Do these steps to install an attitude direction indicator.
 (a)  
Connect the electrical connectors to the attitude direction indicator.

 CAUTION:  CAREFULLY INSTALL THE ATTITUDE DIRECTION INDICATOR INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TOO MUCH FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE REAR OF THE ATTITUDE DIRECTION INDICATOR.

 (b)  
Carefully install the attitude direction indicator into the clamp at the rear of the instrument panel.

 (c)  
Tighten the higher right screw and the lower left screw on the front of the attitude direction indicator.

 (d)  
If it is necessary, adjust the inclinometer of the attitude direction indicator you installed (Ref 34-28-61/501).

 (3)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P6-1 Electronic System First Officer Panel
 1) ADI
 2) CAPT ADI (ALT)

 (b)  
P18-2 Electronic System Captain Panel
 1) ADI
 2) F/O ADI (ALT)

 (c)  
P41 P1 And P2 5V Lighting
 1) 5V AC SEC

 (d)  
P42 P3 5V lighting
 1) 5V AC SEC

 

 (4)  
Supply the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (5)  
Make sure the panel lights on the attitude direction indicator come on.
