737-300/400/500MAINTENANCE MANUAL
(c) (d) (e) (f) Event 3 - If the radio altitude is less than 2000 feet and not monitor active (not FLARE ARM), the engaged A/P disengages if either TO/GA switch is pressed.Event 4 - If either TO/GA switch is pressed after touchdown and wheel spin-up (greater than 60 knots) both A/Ps disengage.Event 5 - If the VHF navigation receiver does not switch to the forward antenna when an ILS frequency is selected and the DFCS is in the APP mode the A/P disengages.Event 6 - The autopilot actuator monitor (AAM) monitors the difference between the A/P roll command and the follow-up (A/P LVDT). 1) The AAM trips at four degrees with a variable time delay of 10 degree-second. For example, if the difference between the A/P roll command and the LVDT is 4 degrees the time delay would be 10 divided by 4 or approximately 2.5 seconds.
(g) 2) The surface position monitor (SPM) monitors the difference between the A/P actuator A/P LVDT and the surface position sensor. The SPM trips at 3 degrees with a variable time delay. At altitudes above 60 feet the delay is 30 degree-second for both channels out of tolerance. At altitudes below 60 feet the delay is reduced to 6 degree-second. 3) A third monitor compares the operation of both CPU's during dual channel operation. One CPU generates the roll and pitch commands, the second serves as a model. The command and model CPU's must be within tolerance or both A/P disengage.Event 7 - When the VHF NAV transfer switch is moved out of the normal position only the instruments are transferred. Even though the switching did not switch the FCC inputs, the act of switching would indicate a fault in one VHF navigation receiver. Therefore, the radio modes (VOR/LOC and APP) on the effected side are inhibited. If both channels are in command
(h) (i) (j) (k) (l) both A/P's disengage.Event 8 - After AOC if the associated VHF navigation receiver is not valid or a "Beam Anomaly" occurs the A/P disengages. A beam anomaly is described as a rapid increase in localizer deviation caused by interference with the transmitted localizer signal (for example, another airplane passing through the beam). A 10-second delay allows for short interrupts.Event 9 - The A/P is disengaged below a radio altitude of 350 feet if not in FLARE ARM. FLARE ARM requires that all A/P actuators maintain hydraulic pressure.Event 10 - If a VOR frequency is tuned when in the APP mode, the A/P is disengaged.Event 11 - The Air Data Computer TAS must be valid in the HDG hold mode or the A/P is disengaged.Event 12 - The A/P is disengaged if the NAV receiver is in the autotune mode when the APP mode is selected.
