Do the Maintenance Monitor Test
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU PREPARE THE AIRPLANE FOR THE AIR MODE
_______ BEFORE YOU OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKER THAT FOLLOWS. AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF THE AIRPLANE SYSTEMS IN THE AIR MODE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Open the LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LTS on the P6-2 (or P6-3) Circuit Breaker Panel.
(b)
Ten seconds are necessary for the maintenance monitor to operate.
NOTE: The airspeed more than 100 knots also operates the
____ maintenance monitor.
(c)
Engage the autopilot channel A in the CMD mode.
(d)
Push the ALT HOLD button on the MCP.
(e)
Push the HDG SEL button on the MCP.
(f)
Set the captain's flight director switch to the ON position.
(g)
Make sure that these steps occur: 1) The flight director command bars are in view. 2) The autopilot channel A stays engaged in the CMD mode.
(h)
Open the AFCS-A SNSR EXC AC circuit breaker on the P18-1 Circuit Breaker Panel.
(i)
Make sure that the autopilot is disengaged.
(j)
Close the AFCS-A SNSR EXC AC circuit breaker on the P18-1 Circuit Breaker Panel.
(k)
Set the captain's flight director to the OFF position.
(l)
Engage the autopilot channel B to the CMD mode.
(m)
Push the ALT HOLD button on the MCP.
(n)
Push the HDG SEL button on the MCP.
(o)
Set the first officer's flight director switch to the ON position.
(p)
Make sure that these steps occur: 1) The flight director command bars are in view. 2) The autopilot channel B stays engaged in the CMD mode.
(q)
Open the AFCS-B SNSR EXC AC circuit breaker on the P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel.
(r)
Make sure that autopilot is disengaged.
