Disconnect the VTVM.

Disconnect the test cable from J-3 (A SENSOR) to the aileron position sensor.

(2) Do a test on the autopilot B aileron axis:
(a)
Connect a -4 test cable from J-4 (B SENSOR) on the test set to the aileron position sensor.
(b)
Connect the VTVM to the LVDT FEEDBACK - B J10B and J11B.
(c)
Connect the other VTVM to the NSS FEEDBACK - B J7B and J8B.
(d)
Set the switches on the test set as follows: 1) LVDT FEEDBACK - A OFF, B ON 2) LVDT EXCITATION - A OFF, B ON 3) SOLENOID EXCITATION - (PISTON and ENGAGE), A OFF, B ON 4) NSS EXCITATION - A OFF, B ON 5) NSS FEEDBACK - A OFF, B OFF 6) CURRENT SELECT - B T-VALVE 7) SOLENOIDS ON/OFF (Center Switch) - ON 8) A&B SOLENOID - A NORM, B NORM 9) ACTUATOR SELECT - B ONLY 10) POWER - ON
(e)
Make sure that these lights are on:
1) SOLENOID EXCITATION - PISTON and ENGAGE - B
2) LVDT EXCITATION - B
3) NSS EXCITATION - B
4) POWER
NOTE: All other lights must be OFF.

(f) Use the POSITION CONTROL B switch to set up the test conditions as shown below.

4) SOLENOID EXCITATION - B: PISTON ON, ENGAGE OFF
5) NSS EXCITATION - A OFF, B OFF
6) NSS FEEDBACK - A OFF, B OFF
7) CURRENT SELECT: A T-VALVE

(b) Make sure that these lights are ON: 1) SOLENOID EXCITATION - PISTON and ENGAGE - A 2) SOLENOID EXCITATION - PISTON - B 3) LVDT EXCITATION - A and B 4) POWER
NOTE:____ All other lights must be OFF.
(c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) (k) (l) (m) (n) Turn the POSITION CONTROL A switch until the trailing edge of the right aileron moves down to 1.00 |0.10 inches (5.00 |0.10 degrees). Lock the POSITION CONTROL A switch in its position. Keep a record of the aileron position.Connect the VTVM to the LVDT FEEDBACK - A J10A and J11A. Keep a record of the voltage.Set the SOLENOID EXCITATION ENGAGE A switch to the OFF position.Set the ACTUATOR SELECT switch to the B ONLY position.Set the SOLENOID EXCITATION ENGAGE B switch to the ON position.Connect the other VTVM to the LVDT FEEDBACK - B J10B and J11B.Adjust the POSITION CONTROL B switch until the VTVM reads the same voltage as in the step (d) |0.03 volt. Keep a record of the voltage.Make sure that the right aileron is at 1.00 |0.10 inches down position. Keep a record of the aileron position.Set the SOLENOID EXCITATION ENGAGE A switch to the ON position.Set the ACTUATOR SELECT switch to the A & B INDEPENDENT position.Set the SOLENOID B switch to the +HDOVR position.Make sure that the trailing edge of the aileron does not move down more than 0.20 inches. Keep a record of the trailing edge position.
