Event 13 - The selected IRU (normal on side) lateral acceleration must be valid in the LOC mode or the A/P is disengaged.
(n)
Event 14 - The selected IRU MAG track angle (normal on side) must be valid in VOR/LOC or APP modes or the A/P is disengaged.
(o)
Event 15 - If both A/Ps in CMD and one A/P disengages the other A/P is disengaged except when an intentional exit is made from A/P GA.
(p)
Event 16 - If the radio altimeter valid discretes is lost when both GS and LOC are engaged (prior to monitors active), the A/P is disengaged. A 2-second delay allows for short interrupts.
(q)
Event 17 - If both channels are engaged with monitors active, both radio altimeters must fail before the disengage signal is generated.
(r)
Event 18 - During the APPROACH mode, if an AC bus transfer has
been made and the FGN is in CMD the LCL cannot be engaged. The A/P pitch mode disconnect table (Fig. 17) shows the events which cause an A/P disengage with a pitch mode selected.
(a)
Event 1 - An unsafe flight condition which disconnects the A/P. This condition specifies that the A/P is in a speed mode and the airplane should be gaining altitude but is not climbing and is approaching a stall.
(b)
Event 2 - Another unsafe flight condition. This condition, specifies that the A/P is engaged in a speed mode and should be descending but is not and at the same time is exceeding the VMO/MMO limits.
(c)
Event 3 - The GS is monitored from APP OC to a R/A of 60 feet. A delay of 4.5 seconds allows for short interrupts.
(d) Event 4 - Dual channel monitors are activated five seconds after both channels are engaged. These monitors are: 1) The autopilot actuator monitors (AAM) which monitors the difference between autopilot command and follow-up (A/P LVDT). The AAM trips at 4 degrees with a variable time delay of 10 degree-seconds. For example, if the difference between A/P command is 4 degrees the time delay would be 10 divided by 4 or approximately 2.5 seconds. 2) The surface position monitor (SPM) monitors the difference between the A/P actuator (A/P LVDT) and the surface position sensor. The SPM trip at 4 degrees with a variable time delay. At altitude above 60 feet the time delay is 30 degree-seconds for one channel out of tolerance or 10 degree-second for both channels out of tolerance. The time delay is changed to 6 degree-seconds below 60 feet.
3) A third monitor compares the operation of both CPU's during dual channel operation. One CPU generates the roll and pitch commands. the second serves as a model. The command and model CPU's must be within tolerance or both A/P disengage.
(e) Event 5 - The A/P is disengaged below a radio altitude of 350 feet if not FLARE ARM. FLARE ARM requires that all A/P actuators maintain hydraulic pressure.

(f)
Event 6 - When both A/Ps are in CMD if one is disengaged the other is also disengaged. The one exception is when an intentional exit of pitch GA is made.
(g)
Event 7 - When GA is exited by selection of another pitch mode the second A/P to CMD is disengaged.
(h)
Event 8 - Baro corrected altitude from the ADC not valid disengages the A/P in the modes shown.
(i)
Event 9 - Same as 8 except uncorrected baro corrected altitude.
(j)
Event 10 - The selected IRU longitudinal acceleration not valid disengages the A/P after G/S engage.
(k)
Event 11 - Same as 10 except Vertical acceleration.
(l)
Event 12 - Same as 10 except Vertical speed.
(m)
Event 13 - A simultaneous trim up and trim down signal to the A/P stabilizer trim motor disengages the autopilot.
