Make sure that you can see the bearing threads of the rod end through inspection holes in the rod assembly. Adjust the rod assembly if it is necessary.
NOTE: The nominal length of the rod assembly is 11.17

Tighten the locknut on the rod end.
(d)
Install the bolt, washer, and nut.
NOTE: The bolt must go smoothly through the actuator A lever

and PCU input lever.
(e) Make sure that the installation of the bolts does not cause movement of the ailerons.
NOTE: You can see the ailerons movement from the right
____
aileron index mark.
F. Autopilot Aileron Actuator Functional Test
S 725-014
(1) Do a test on the autopilot A aileron axis:
(a)
Make sure that the pilot's control wheel is in the neutral position.
(b)
Make sure that the aileron trim is in the zero position.
(c)
Disconnect the wires from the aileron position sensor.
NOTE: The aileron position sensor is near the input shaft of
____ the aileron PCU in the wheel well.
(d)
Connect a -4 test cable from J-3 (A SENSOR) on the test set to the aileron position sensor.
(e)
Connect the VTVM to the A LVDT FEEDBACK J10A and J11A.
(f)
Connect the other VTVM to the A NSS FEEDBACK J7A and J8A.

1) LVDT FEEDBACK - A ON, B OFF
2) LVDT EXCITATION - A ON, B OFF
3) SOLENOID EXCITATION - (PISTON and ENGAGE) A ON, B OFF
4) NSS EXCITATION - A ON, B OFF
5) NSS FEEDBACK - A OFF, B OFF
6) CURRENT SELECT - A T-VALVE
7) SOLENOIDS ON/OFF (Center Switch) - ON
8) A&B SOLENOID - A NORM, B NORM
9) ACTUATOR SELECT - A ONLY
10) POWER - ON
(h) Make sure that these lights are ON:
1) SOLENOID EXCITATION - PISTON and ENGAGE - A
2) LVDT EXCITATION - A
3) NSS EXCITATION - A
4) POWER
NOTE: All other lights must be OFF.____
(i) Make sure that the hydraulic system A and B switches are in the
ON position.
(j) Use the POSITION CONTROL A switch to set up the test conditions
as shown below.
(k) Make sure that the right aileron positions are in the
tolerances as shown below.
