 A/P ACTUATOR SOLENOID AND TRANSFER VALVES - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General
________
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is the BITE Test for the solenoid and the transfer valves. The second task is the Manual Test for the solenoid and the transfer valves. The BITE Test and the Manual Test use no external equipment. It makes sure that the A/P actuators operate correctly.

 C.  Prepare for the BITE Test - Valves
 S 865-002
 (1)  
Make sure that the BAT switch on the Pilots' Forward Overhead Panel, P5, is in the ON position.

 (2)  
Set the STANDBY POWER switch on the Pilots' Forward Overhead Panel, P5, to the AUTO position.

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201)

 (4)  
Make sure you close the LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LIGHTS circuit breaker on the P6 circuit breaker panel.

 (5)  
Put the left and right IRS selector switches, P5, to the NAV position to align the IRS (Ref 34-28-00/201 or 34-28-01/201).

Make sure that all the instrument switches are in the NORMAL position.

 (7)  
Make sure the airplane is on the ground.

 (8)  
Make sure you do not engage the autopilot.

Make sure the IRS ground speed or the FMC ground speed is less than 20 Knots.

 Do these steps to get access to the DFCS BITE TEST:

 (a)  
Push the INIT REF key on the FMCS CDU to show the POS INIT page.

 (b)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <INDEX to show the INIT REF INDEX page.

 (c)  
Push the LSK adjacent to MAINT> to show the MAINT BITE INDEX 1/1 page.

 (d)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <DFCS to show the DFCS BITE TEST LINE MAINT 1/2 page.

 

 D. Do the BITE Test - Valves
 S 745-009
 (1)  Do the ACT POS SENS test:
 (a)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <LRU INTERFACE to show the DFCS BITE TEST INTERFACE.

 (b)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <CHANNEL A AND B to show the DFCS BITE TEST INTERFACE -A/-B 1/2 page.

 (c)  
Push the NEXT PAGE key on the CDU to show the DFCS BITE TEST INTERFACE -A/-B 2/2 page.

 (d)  
Push the LSK adjacent to ACT POS SENS>.

 (e)  
Do the preparation steps for the quick tests as shown on the CDU display.

 (f)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE to start the quick tests.

 (g)  
Make sure that the quick tests are completed with no failure.
