E. Roll Force Transducer Adjustment
S 035-035
(1) Remove the adjustable end of the transducer:
(a)
Put the shims between the shaft and the drum. The clearance must be 0.020 (+0.003/-0.0).
(b)
Remove the bolt, washer, and nut from the adjustable end of the force transducer.
S 865-036
(2) Find the null voltage:
(a) Do the tests 55.29 and 55.30 of the CWS RIGGING BITE test.

Make sure that the A and B voltage on the CDU display are between +0.80v and -0.80v: 1) Hold the transducer level when you read the voltage for
minimum error.
(c)
Make sure that there are some threads shown on the fine and coarse adjustments.
(d)
Slightly loosen the clamps of the electrical cable to get the voltage down below |80mv, if it is necessary. Tighten the clamps.
(e)
If you measured the voltages of the transducer before the installation, make sure that you get the same voltage.
S 435-037
(3) Install the adjustable rod end of the transducer:
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the locknuts, fine adjustment nut, and the washer tab.
(b)
Loosen the locknuts and adjust the coarse fitting until you can install the bolt, washer and nut.
(c)
Do the fine adjustment until you get the voltage as measured before the installation |10 mv.
NOTE: The fine adjustment is approximately 0.006 inch for
____
each turn.
(d) Adjust the coarse adjustment until the mounting hole is parallel to the mounting hole at the opposite end of the transducer.
NOTE: The coarse adjustment is approximately 0.016 inch for
____
each turn.
(e)
Make sure that the null voltage is still the same |10 mv (minimum).
(f)
Tighten the locknut on the adjustable sleeve (push the washer against the end cap of the transducer).
(g)
Tighten locknut on the rod end.
(h)
Install the lockwire.
(i)
