WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL
_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDER, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(11)
Set the hydraulic systems A and B switches on the P5 panel to the On position

(12)
Close the SHUTOFF VALVES FLT CONT circuit breaker on the P6 Circuit Breaker Panel and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.
G. Sensor Adjustment
S 865-012
(1)
Make sure that the elevator and tab control system is in the rigged position (Ref 27-31-00/501).
S 825-013
(2)
Adjust the sensor:
(a) Adjust the position control knob, R -1A, on the test set until you get the lowest value on the meter.
NOTE: The A/P actuators are at null when the meter shows the
____
lowest value.
(b)
Adjust the position control knob, R-1A, on the test set to move the elevator surfaces down until the voltage at the J10A and J11A increases to 2.00 +/- 0.05 volts. Keep the control knob at this position.
(c)
Make sure that the right elevator trailing edge is aligned with the index +/- 0.6 inch on the tail cone.
(d)
Remove the VTMV.
(e)
Connect the VTVM to J7A and J8A (NSS FEEDBACK) on the test set.
(f)
Do this adjustment: 1) Lightly loosen the screw on the sensor clamp.

2) Turn the sensor housing clockwise slowly until you get
1.348 +/-0.005 volts.
NOTE: At the end of the sensor shaft, you can find the
____ index mark on the sensor housing. Turn the sensor counterclockwise approximately 6 degrees against the index mark on the sensor clamp.
3) Tighten the clamp screw 8 to 12 pound-inches. 4) Remove the lockwire from the thumb nut on the
microadjustment rod. 5) Turn the thumb nut until you get 1.348 +/-0.03 volts. 6) Use the horizontal stabilizer trim wheel to move the
stabilizer leading edge down.
7) Make sure that the voltage decreases.
