Open the screen doors (if installed) for tire burst protection purpose in the left main wheel well to get access to the actuator.
D. Procedure

(1)
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the hydraulic ports on the actuator. Seal the hydraulic lines and the hydraulic ports with plugs.

Remove the electrical connectors from the actuator and the hydraulic pressure switch.

Remove the hydraulic pressure switch. Seal the hydraulic port with a plug. Keep the hydraulic pressure switch.

Remove the clamp-bolt, washer, and nut that attach the lever assembly to the actuator. Remove the nut and washer that attach the output shaft of the actuator to the lever assembly.

Try to turn the shear rivets by hand to see if they are loose.

Quickly move the fitting and the arm of the lever assembly in opposite directions.

If there is movement between the parts, one or both of the rivets are loose.

Put a 0.0375 to 0.0395 inch (0.9525 to 1.0033 millimeter) diameter pin into the rivet inspection hole.

Make sure that the pin moves freely.

Repeat this step for the other rivet inspection hole.

(9) If there is wear in the shear rivets then remove the lever assembly.
(a) Remove nut(s), bolt(s), washer(s), that attach to the rod assemblies.

Remove the mounting bolts, washers, and nuts that hold the actuator.
