 B.  Before you do the adjustment, the elevator and tab control system has to be correctly rigged and the mach trim actuator in the null position. Also make sure that these systems are serviceable:

 2.  Elevator Neutral Shift Sensor Adjustment (F80217-139 Test Set)________________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
In this procedure, you use the F80217-139 test set to do the adjustment. To do the adjustment, you have to remove the 3802 access door to get access to the sensor.

 (2)  
You can find the sensor on the forward right side of the feel and centering unit. The feel and centering unit is aft of the bulkhead station 1156.

 (2)  Do this task to fully adjust the elevator rigging before you can adjust the neutral shift sensor: "Adjustment - Elevator and Tab Control System" (Ref 27-31-00/501).

_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDER, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Supply hydraulic power (Ref 29-15-00/201).

Set the hydraulic systems A and B switches on the P5 panel to the OFF position.

Open the SHUTOFF VALVES FLT CONT circuit breaker on the P6 Circuit Breaker Panel and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

Remove the 3802 access door on the tail cone (Ref 12-31-41/201).

Set the horizontal stabilizer to 3-unit of trim or a B dimension of


 41.57 (|0.05) inches.

 (8)  Make sure that the voltage between J6-37 and J6-1 in the FCC test connector is below 50mvdc.
 NOTE: The Mach trim actuator is at null when the voltage

 is below 50 mvdc.
