DIGITAL FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains three tasks. The first task is the operational test of the Digital Flight Control System (DFCS). The second task is the system test of the DFCS. The third task is the rigging check of the DFCS.
B. The operational test of the DFCS gives a fast check of the DFCS. It uses no external equipment. The system test of the DFCS uses the DFCS BITE to examine the interfaces of the DFCS. It makes sure that the DFCS operates correctly. The rigging test of the DFCS make sure that the aileron and elevator actuators and sensors operate correctly.
C. The DFCS Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) is used to do the operational test and rigging test. Some tests in the system test are not included in the BITE procedures. The complete DFCS BITE is in the section 22-03, Digital Flight Control System - Trouble Shooting.
D. The DFCS BITE gives all the necessary data and instructions to the operator on the FMCS CDU.

The INDEX pages permit the operator to get the specified DFCS BITE procedures.
(2)
A continuous sequence of instructions that the operator must do, for example, "OPEN STAB TRIM C/B".
(3)
If there is no failure, the test results will show "NO FAULTS". If a failure occurs, the test results will show "TEST FAILED" and the LRU that causes the failure.
E. The FMCS CDU (Fig. 501) has 12 line-select keys (6 on each side of the CDU display). These keys are identified as 1L thru 6L and 1R thru 6R. LSK 6L refers to the sixth key down on the left hand side of the CDU display.
F. The FMCS CDU data lines are identified with a caret (<) or (>) adjacent to the LSK. They permit the operator to get access to the tests or options. <CONTINUE and INDEX> are frequently used for the page/sequence control of the BITE. <CONTINUE is used to sequence the FMCS CDU display to go to the subsequent page of the BITE procedure. INDEX> is used to step the display back to the last index page.

2. Operational Test - Digital Flight Control System

A. General
(1)
The operational test of the DFCS gives a fast check of the serviceable condition of the DFCS. It uses no external equipment. The airplane electrical system and the hydraulic system are the only power sources necessary for this task.
(2)
The DFCS BITE CURRENT STATUS tests are used to do the operational test.
(3)
The DFCS BITE CURRENT STATUS tests include:

Make sure that the BAT switch on the Pilots' Forward Overhead Panel is in the ON position.

Set the STANDBY POWER switch on the Pilots' Forward Overhead Panel to the AUTO position.
(3)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(4)
Close these circuit breakers:

NOTE: Make sure that you close the AFCS A FCC DC and AFCS B FCC DC
