 (1)  The DFCS engage interlock information is obtained from many interfacing systems and switching signals. This schematic shows the engage interface with the following units:
 (a)  
Auto Speed Brake Module

 1)  The auto speed brake module is used to sense a main wheel spin of greater than 60 knots.

 (b)  
A/P Disengage Switches

 1)  The A/P disengage switches are in series. Pressing either switch disengages the A/P.

 (c)  
Air Ground Relay

 1)  The air ground relay is used to sense the on ground condition (SQUAT). A closed switch indicates on ground.

 (d)  
Hydraulic Pressure Switches

 1)  The hydraulic pressure switches are used to sense when the A/P actuators are fully activated (DETENT). A closed switch indicates hydraulic pressure.

 (e)  
Radio Altitude

 1)  Two Radio ALT (LRRA) discretes are used for validity, one input is used when on dual engage and the other for single channel operation. A foreign radio altitude is transmitted to the other FCC on the X channel data bus.

 (f)  
Auto tune

 1)  A discrete from the VHF NAV control panel is provided when the VHF NAV is in the auto mode.

 (g)  
VHF NAV Unit

 1)  The VHF NAV unit provides discretes for ILS DC (LOC frequency selected), VHF/LOC valid and G/S valid. If the VHF transfer switch is placed to both on 2, the VOR/LOC valid signal and transfer discrete are open circuited.

 (h)  
Heading Transfer Relay

 1)  A ground circuit through the EFIS switching and attitude transfer relays are used to indicated the normal position of the heading system and also if transfer is in progress.

 (i)  
Altitude Transfer

 1)  A ground circuit through EFIS switching and attitude transfer relays are used to indicate when in the normal condition and also if transfer is in progress. This is accomplished for both the LCL and FGN attitude transfer.

 (j)  
TO/GA switches

 1)  TO/GA switches are used to activate the takeoff or GA mode and provide engage interlock information.

 (k)  
ILS Relay

 1)  When the APP mode is selected the VHF NAV unit is connected to the forward ILS antenna. The ILS relay provides a ground discrete to indicate that the transfer is complete.

 (l)  
XFR Control Relay


 1)  The XFR control senses an AC bus XFR. The closed position indicates the normal position.
