DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE MATERIAL. DO NOT SMOKE WHEN YOU USE THE MATERIAL. DO NOT USE THE MATERIAL NEAR A FLAME, SPARKS OR SOURCES OF HEAT. THESE MATERIALS ARE DANGEROUS : THEY ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANTS.
(1) Remove the panel (1). - For the left pylon: 414FR. - For the right pylon: 423FL.
(2) Remove the damaged seal (3) from its support (2).
(3) Install the panel (1). - For the left pylon: 414FR. - For the right pylon: 423FL.
R (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(5) Clean the pylon structure and the wing structure around the space where the seal was installed with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-016).
(6) Cover the space where the seal was installed with three layers of BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-061) (high-speed tape).
NOTE : Attach the first layer longitudinally over the space, the____ second and third layers diagonally so that the layers overlap each other.

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.

Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

Remove the warning notice(s).
(3)
Remove the access platform(s).
(4)
Make an entry in the aircraft technical log that the aerodynamic seal of the pylon is removed and temporarily closed with high-speed tape.

A. Safety Precautions
(1)
On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2)
Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3)
On the overheat maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b)
Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC. Subtask 54-53-00-040-053
B.
Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. TASK 78-30-00-481-041). Subtask 54-53-00-010-051
C. Get Access
(1) Put the access platform in position.
(a)
At zone 410 for the left pylon.
(b)
At zone 420 for the right pylon.

A. Reactivation of the Aerodynamic Seal
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 54-53-00-991-002)
(1)
Remove the high speed tape from the pylon structure and the wing structure.
(2)
Remove the panel (1).

For the left pylon: 414FR.
-
For the right pylon: 423FL.
(3)
Install the replacement seal (3) on its support (2).
(4)
Install the panel (1).
