(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.

B. Get Access
(1) Put the access platform in position.
(a)
In the zone 410 for the left pylon.
(b)
In the zone 420 for the right pylon.

(2) Remove the access panels:
(a)
For the left pylon: 414FR, 471AL, 472AR, 521BT.
(b)
For the right pylon: 481AL, 482AR, 423FL, 621BT.

C. Removal of the Component

(1)
Remove the bleed air ducts:
-
between the closing rib and the pylon,
-
between the pylon and the anti-ice valve (Ref. TASK 36-11-48-000-004).
(2)
Disengage the cables (3) and (4) at RIB4 to get access to the shackles.
(a)
Remove the cable ties (5) and discard them.
(b)
Remove the bolt (7) and the spacer (6) to disengage the clamps
(10) and (11).
(c)
Remove the bolt (1) and disengage the clamps (13) and (2) from the support (12).
(d)
Loosen the bolt (9) and turn the plate (8) to get access to the shackles.

Make sure that the surface of the inspection area is clean and smooth.

Do a check of the inspection area for visible damage or discontinuities.
(4)
Make sure that there is no:
(a)
Corrosion damage:
-If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 512200,P.Block 001) for types, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b)
Other damage (cracks, scratches, stress, marks, dents, bumps...):
-If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 511100,P.Block 001) for damage classification and corrective action.

Do a special detailed inspection of the structure of the shackles at RIB4. Refer to the Non-destructive Testing Manual (Ref. NTM 545115,P.Block-401).

Make a report of damage after NDT inspection:
(a)
Corrosion damage:
-If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 512200,P.Block 001) for types, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b)
Other damage (cracks, scratches, stress, marks, dents, bumps...):
-If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 511100,P.Block 001) for damage classification and corrective action.
