4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Hoisting Fittings
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 54-51-29-991-001)
(1)
Put the hoisting fittings (3) in position.
(2)
Install the washers (2). Install the nuts (1) and tighten them manually.
(3)
Make sure that the alignment is within 0.3 mm (0.0118 in.). To do this put a 19 mm (0.7480 in.) dia. bar into the holes of the hoisting fittings.
(4)
TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 15.5 and 18 m.daN (114.30 and 132.74 lbf.ft).
(5)
Remove the bar.

A. Close Access Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(1) Install the panels:

For the left pylon 473AL, 473AR.

R (2) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. TASK 54-51-21-400-001):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the warning notice(s).

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
