A. Safety Precautions
(1)
On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2)
Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3)
On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC. Subtask 54-51-00-010-071
B. Get Access
(1) Put an access platform in position.
(a)
At zone 410 for the left pylon.
(b)
At zone 420 for the right pylon.
R (2) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. TASK 54-51-21-000-001):
(a)
For the left pylon: 415AL, 415AR, 415BL, 415BR.
(b)
For the right pylon: 425AL, 425AR, 425BL, 425BR.

D. Cleaning of the Structure
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Clean the inspection area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), if necessary.
4. Procedure

A. Inspection
(Ref. Fig. 606/TASK 54-51-00-991-026)
(1)
Do a detailed inspection of the upper surface of the pylon lower spar. This inspection is applicable from RIB2 to RIB3, and from RIB4 to RIB8.
(2)
Make sure that there is no:
(a)
Corrosion damage:
-If there is corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 512200-P.Block001) for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b)
Other damage (cracks, scratches, stress, marks dents, bumps,...):

-If there is other damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 511100-P.Block001) for damage classification and corrective action.

(1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. TASK 78-30-00-081-041). Subtask 54-51-00-410-054
B. Close Access R (1) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. TASK 54-51-21-400-001):
(a)
For the left pylon: 415AL, 415AR, 415BL, 415BR.
(b)
For the right pylon: 425AL, 425AR, 425BL, 425BR.
(2)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(3)
Remove the access platform(s).
(4)
Remove the warning notice(s).
