4. Procedure

A. Repair of the CAF4 Sealant (Ref. Fig. 801/TASK 54-52-00-991-002)
(1)
Before you do the repair of the CAF4 sealant:
-do a check for leaks of the sealant in the area that has contamination and in the adjacent area.
(2)
If you find leaks, do a repair of the CAF4 sealant.
(3)
Repair of the CAF4 sealant.
(a)
In the areas where you can easily get access:
(b)
In the areas where you cannot easily get access: 1 Clean the sealant with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-008).
1_ Use a scraper to remove the old sealant that has contamination
plus 10 mm (0.3937 in.) all around the area.
2_ Clean with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-008).
3_ Remove the grease with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
NOTE : If there is contamination by kerozene, after you have____
removed the sealant, clean the area with CLEANING
AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).

(3)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(4)
Remove the access platform(s).

A. Safety Precautions
(1)
On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2)
Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3)
On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a)
Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b)
Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
