A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC.

B. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zones 410 and 420.
R (2) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. TASK 54-51-21-000-001):
(a)
For the left pylon: 415AL, 415AR.
(b)
For the right pylon: 425AL, 425AR.
(3)
Use a FLASHLIGHT, if necessary.

(1)
Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. TASK 78-30-00-481-041). Subtask 54-51-00-110-070
D. Cleaning of the Structure WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Clean the inspection area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), if necessary.

A. Inspection
(Ref. Fig. 620/TASK 54-51-00-991-028)
(1)
Do a detailed inspection of the lower spar of the pylon, between RIB1 and RIB4. This inspection is applicable to the areas of the fasteners at the junction with the lateral panel, left and right sides.
(2)
Make sure that there is no:
(a)
Corrosion damage:
-If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 512200-P.Block001) for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b)
Other damage (cracks, scratches, stress, marks dents, bumps,...):
-If you find other damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 511100-P.Block001) for damage classification and corrective action.
5. Close-up

B. Close Access R (1) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. TASK 54-51-21-400-001):
(a)
For the left pylon: 415AL, 415AR.
