 Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

 On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:

 (a)
 Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.

 (b)
 Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

 C. Get Access
 (1) Put an access platform in position:
 (a) For the left pylon at the zone 470.
 (b) For the right pylon at the zone 480. Subtask 54-51-17-020-063
 D. Removal of the Components
 (1) Remove the shackles at RIB10 (Ref. TASK 54-51-17-000-002).

 4. Procedure

 A. Removal of the Bushes
 (1)
 Remove and discard the bushes (2) and (3) from the shackles (1).

 (2)
 Clean the shackles (1) with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).

 B. Inspection of the Shackle Bores
 (1)
 Do a visual inspection of the shackle bores.

 (2)
 Make sure that there is no damage and that diameters D1 and D2 of the shackle bores are in the tolerance.

 (3)
 If there is damage or if diameter(s) D1 and/or D2 is(are) not in the tolerance:


 (a) Rebore the shackles (1) to the repair dimension(s) R1 and/or R2. Subtask 54-51-17-420-063
 C. Installation of the Bushes
 (1)
 Make sure that the surface of the shackle bores is clean. If necessary, clean the surface with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).

 (2)
 Soak the new bushes (2) and bushes (3) in nitrogen liquid.

 (3)
 Install the bushes (2) and (3) in the shackles (1).

 (4)
 Apply a bead of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016B) on the shackles (1) and the bushes (2) and (3).

 (5)
 Rebore the bushes (2) and (3) to the diameters D3 and D4 with the center-to-center distances X1, X2 and X3.

 


 (6) Clean the shackles (1) with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003). ________
5. Close-up

 A. Installation of the Components
 (1) Install the shackles at RIB10 (Ref. TASK 54-51-17-400-002). Subtask 54-51-17-942-057
 B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
 (1)
 Remove the warning notice(s).

 (2)
 Remove the access platform(s).

 (3)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
