- make sure that the NO SMOKING (190RH) switch is in the ON position,
- open these CBs:
49VU: 150RH (G01) COM DIR ESS/1
49VU: 157RH (G02) COM DIR ESS/2
121VU:151RH (M06) CIDS/DIR NORM/1
121VU:156RH (M07) CIDS/DIR NORM/2,
- wait for 10 s and close the CBs 156RH and 157RH,
- stop for approx. 120 s,
- check if the NO SMOKING signs in the cabin come on.
(1) If the test is OK:
- install a new DIR-CIDS (101RH) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-34-000-001).
(2) If the fault continues:
- do a check and repair the wiring if necessary between the: DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/D15 and NO SMOKING (190RH) switch, DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/C13 and SDAC1 (1WV1) connector AA/7H (Ref. ASM 23-73/02).
(a) If the fault continues:
- replace the NO SMOKING (190RH) switch.

E. If there is no reaction of the AIPs, ACPs and the ATTND-loudspeakers in the cabin:
- make sure that at least one cabin door is open,
- open these CBs:
49VU: 150RH (G01) COM DIR ESS/1
49VU: 157RH (G02) COM DIR ESS/2
121VU:151RH (M06) CIDS/DIR NORM/1
121VU:156RH (M07) CIDS/DIR NORM/2,
- wait for approx. 10 s and close the CBs 156RH and 157RH,
- stop for approx. 120 s,
- push all CALL pushbuttons on the cockpit overhead panel 21VU (CALLS) again,
- check that each CALL pushbutton has an associated reaction in the cabin on the AIP, ACP and ATTND loudspeaker.
(1) If the test is OK:
- install a new DIR-CIDS (101RH) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-34-000-001).
(2) If the fault continues:
- do a check and repair the wiring if necessary between the: DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/3B and CALLS/FWD (181RH1) switch, DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/3C and CALLS/AFT (181RH2) switch, DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/3D and CALLS/ALL (181RH3) switch, DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/8K and CALLS/EXIT (181RH4) switch, DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/3E and CALLS/MID (181RH5) switch, DIR-CIDS 101RH connector AB/A3 and CALLS/EMER CALL (180RH) switch (Ref. ASM 23-73/02).
(a) If the fault continues:
- replace the: CALLS/FWD (181RH1) switch, and/or CALLS/AFT (181RH2) switch and/or CALLS/ALL (181RH3) switch and/or CALLS/EXIT (181RH4) switch and/or CALLS/MID (181RH5) switch and/or CALLS/EMER CALL (180RH) switch.
