A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the area. Clean the slat 1 skin connection in the area of the lower girder at track ribs 1 thru 4.

B. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection of the slat 1 skin connections in the area of the lower girder (ribs 1 thru 4) (Ref. NTM 57-42-04 PART 9).
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 574000) for the
____ correct repair procedure. If the defect is not included in this repair, you must request a procedure from Airbus Industrie.
5. Close-up

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 5CV, 7CV.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Remove the access platform(s).
(3)
Remove the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER from the flap/slat control lever.
(4)
Fully retract the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-005).

(1) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Fully extend the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put the adjustable access platform below the applicable wing leading edge at slat 1, zone 521 (621).
